The Latest: Delaware Reports First COVID-19 Death, Queen Anne’s County & Accomack County Reports New Cases

We are following a series of developments in the coronavirus outbreak on Delmarva as officials in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia report new figures.

In Delaware, the state reported it’s first coronavirus related death on Thursday afternoon. A man in his 60’s, from Sussex County passed away after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Officials say he had underlying health conditions.

Delaware’s total number of cases is now at 130, with 17 in Kent County and 27 in Sussex County, the counties with the highest number of cases on Delmarva.

Maryland is reporting 580 cases, with one new case reported on the state’s Eastern Shore. The Queen Anne’s County Health Department is confirming a second patient tested positive for COVID-19.

Virginia’s number of cases is now at 460, with over 6,000 people tested. Accomack County is now reporting the Eastern Shore of Virginia’s second case.

Dorchester County remains the only county in our area with no reported cases, and one of only two counties in Maryland with no reported cases.
