Rehoboth Beach Police Officer Fired for Racist Social Media Post

Rehoboth Beach Police have announced the firing of a seasonal officer after he made a racist social media post.

Officers described the officer’s actions as “inappropriate” and “racially based.”

RBPD officials say the conduct violates their code of ethics but stress “the actions of one does not discredit the positive contributions that so many of our members make to our community on a daily basis.”

In a statement, the department said “racism has no place within our community and will not be tolerated.”
