Downgraded to a Tropical Storm, Isaias Expected to Impact Delmarva on Tuesday

The National Hurricane Center has downgraded Isaias to a Tropical Storm, with maximum sustained winds around 65 miles per hour.

The storm, positioned off Central Florida’s east coast is expected to make an official landfall in the Carolinas in the coming hours.

Tropical Storm warnings are posted from Florida’s east coast to North Carolina’s outer banks.

Delmarva is expected to experience rain and thunder storms starting around Monday night continuing through early Wednesday morning.

Meteorologists project rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches, with isolated areas in Western Delmarva (particularly Dorchester and Talbot Counties) in excess of 6 inches of rainfall.

The storm is expected to be a quick mover, only impacting Delmarva for just over a 24 hour period.
