The Delmarva Peninsula has been spared by the latest series of watches and warnings from the National Weather Service, but we still expect the experience severe winter weather overnight Wednesday into Thursday. A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of the peninsula.

Wednesday night is expected to bring the chance of snow after 1 a.m., with very little accumulation expected. Thursday morning will bring the chance for snow, sleet, freezing rain and ice. Snow accumulation could total an inch, especially for communities to the north.

For the rest of Thursday, cloudy and breezy with a high in the mid to upper 30’s and wind gusts up to 20 miles an hour.

Maryland Department of Transportation officials say those who can telework on Thursday should to allow crews to treat the roadway. MDOT officials say treating the ice will be their top priority.
