Delaware Officials Issue Swimming Advisory Due to High Bacteria Levels

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control have issued a recreational swimming advisory for Rehoboth Beach at Rehoboth Avenue after finding elevated levels of bacteria in water samples taken from the area on Wednesday.

The bacteria is believed to be associated with recent rainfall.

A decision on lifting the advisory will be made once further samples are taken from the area on Friday afternoon.

The City of Rehoboth Beach has been notified of the advisory.
