Caroline County Students Injured in Tuesday Morning Bus Crash

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office officials tell Delmarva News Network several students were injured in a Tuesday morning school bus crash.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. in the area of Richardson Road in Federalsburg. Officials say the bus slid into a ditch as it was returning ROTC students to Colonel Richardson High School. They were traveling from Easton High School in Talbot County.

Caroline County Public Schools released a statement saying “This morning, a CCPS bus transporting seven ROTC students from Easton High School to Colonel Richardson High School was involved in a single-vehicle accident. Four students and the driver were transported to the hospital for treatment, and all families have been notified. We appreciate the timely care and attention provided by police and emergency management services.”

The four injured students are transported to the hospital for treatment. The cause is under investigation although it’s believed wet weather likely played a role.
