Brandywine Valley SPCA Rescues 100+ Dogs, Cats from Texas

Delaware’s Brandywine Valley SPCA has taken in over one hundred cats and dogs from the Fort Worth, Texas area following severe winter weather that resulted in power outages, limited water access and frigid temperatures.

The animals were flown in to the first state and will be made available for adoption at the BVSPCA’s locations in Georgetown, Dover and New Castle beginning on Tuesday.

“We are one of the few shelters in the region with the rescue infrastructure to handle such large emergency intakes,” said Adam Lamb, BVSPCA CEO. “This many intakes in a weekend will require us to use every bit of our available resources, but we see it as our responsibility to help other communities during critical times of need.”
