16-Year-Old Student Arrested for Shooting Threat at Bennett High

Salisbury, Md. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says they have thwarted a school shooting threat at Salisbury’s James M. Bennett High School after a student made threatening posts on social media.

Deputies say they arrested a 16-year-old male student on Thursday evening after investigating social media posts in which he posted weapons and tactical gear, and insinuated the desire to commit a shooting at the school.

The juvenile suspect was transported to the Lower Shore Children’s Center pending a further court hearing.
